An open index of tools for AI agents.
Find a reusable starting point, understand its setup, and improve it for your task.
What this directory includes
ToolIndex is an open directory of tools AI agents can use: skills, MCP servers, command-line tools, APIs, libraries, plugins, workflows and harnesses. Each listing links directly to its source and explains access, installation, configuration, licensing and review scope.
Each listing links directly to its source and package or service, explains installation and manual connections, and states the license and review scope. Component counts are optional.
Skills, MCP servers, APIs and more
A skill supplies instructions, an MCP server exposes operations, a CLI runs commands and an API connects an agent to a service. Libraries, plugins, workflows and full harnesses can all qualify when their purpose and setup are clear.
For background on the general term, see Anthropic’s agent evaluation glossary.
Review and attribution
“Setup reviewed” means the installation and distribution were examined. “Artifacts checked” refers to the specific evidence described on the page. Neither means every model or platform was tested.
Harneloop is optional. “Built with Harneloop” is a separate attribution for harnesses created or improved through Harneloop. The directory is not limited to that framework.
Who maintains it?
Maintained by Kristofer Jussmann (@Ker102). Source, changes, submission issues and review records are public in the ToolIndex repository.
New submissions are welcome. Share a useful tool that an AI agent can actually use. See how to submit →
Common questions
Which tools can I submit?
Skills, MCP servers, CLIs, APIs, libraries, plugins, workflows and harnesses are welcome. Explain how an agent uses the tool and what users need to set up.
Do I need to use Harneloop?
No. Tools can use any agent or framework. Built with Harneloop is an optional attribution, reviewed separately from the listing.
Can I submit a hosted or commercial tool?
Yes. Link the source or official documentation and service endpoint, explain authentication, pricing and usage terms, and disclose required accounts. For mixed source repositories, identify a focused installation path.
Does a listing mean it works with every model?
No. Each page states its review scope, evidence and manual prerequisites. Setup reviewed and artifacts checked are different claims; neither guarantees every platform or model.
Is an image required?
No. A logo or custom image is optional. Without one, the listing uses initials. Only supply images you are entitled to use, with a source link.
Is submitting free?
Yes. Browsing and submitting to ToolIndex are free. The listed tool may have its own pricing. A GitHub account is needed to open the submission form; no ToolIndex account is required.
